It is befitting that our first collection is the faith collection. Finally stepping into this journey was a long time coming and it required faith. An act of obedience is an act of faith. Often when God tells you to do something, it doesn’t always make sense or come with detailed instructions.

When faith is at work, the work becomes different. Peter had worked all night fishing and caught nothing, but when Jesus gave him a word to let down the net, he was obedient and that was an act of faith. His act of faith resulted in a changed circumstance. What started as a difficult task yielding no results, suddenly changed. Peter’s all night fishing experience was different in the morning, because of the word and his obedience.

The faith collection is inspired by 2 Corinthians 5:7. 

“For we walk by faith, not by sight.”
